33 Days and 13 Hours
A Painting Series About Longing, Memory, and Connectio
33 Days and 13 Hours is a series of paintings that captures the emotions of being far from home. Using Google Maps as a starting point, the artist searches for places tied to her homeland—locations that hold deep personal meaning and connections to her memories.
Each painting reimagines these mapped places, transforming them from digital frames into soft, textured compositions on canvas. Through layers of color, abstract forms, and muted tones, the works reflect the feelings of nostalgia and the invisible ties that connect us to places we hold dear.
The project began during the first COVID-19 lockdown, when travel felt impossible, and the distance from home seemed more significant than ever. These paintings are not just about geography; they’re about the emotional landscapes of longing, belonging, and memory.
Through 33 Days and 13 Hours, the artist shares a deeply personal journey while inviting viewers to reflect on their own connections to places that feel like home.
